I'm no fan of the endless Jane Austen book parodies currently glutting up the market, but this... I have to admit it, I cracked up.

Ha ha ha! Yes, it is very to easy to see how Austen women would need an outlet like that... easier than seeing modern men needing it, honestly.

Totally--with the possible exception of the independently wealthy Emma Woodhouse and the self-involved Marianne Dashwood, almost ALL of Austen's heroines could have used some kind of activity to blow off a little steam. Just the *thought* of Elinor Dashwood trying to punch someone in the face makes me smile...
