Bagels, pizza, and sewer steam

Do kids really need a scratch-and-sniff illustrated guide to New York's aromas, both good and bad? My first thought was "Ew!", but then I remember my elementary school peers' passion for those Garbage Pail Kids cards, and remember that it's not my job to judge.

Ew, I remember the Garbage Pail Kids. Like Cabbage Patch Kids (which were creepy themselves), only stomach-churning. I had friends who loved those cards and I could not even view all the cards without feeling queasy.

Yeah, those cards were disgusting. Even as a very small child I found them off-putting, and was pleased when they fell out of fashion. That's why I was appalled when one of my Czech relatives told me about a craze in Europe a few years ago for a line of plastic dolls that emitted various gross aromas when you squeezed them. It was like those cards all over again... but in 3-D.
