GYAH! The CW has given the green light to a pilot of one of our favorite teen-girl vampire series from the mid-90s, L.J. Smith's slightly-hokey-but-still-delightful Vampire Diaries!

Sadly, the pilot was written by Kevin Williamson, creator of the dread Dawson's Creek, which does cause considerable concern, but we'll hope for the best.
